Clayton Parlor Scarf

This beautiful red scarf with pomegranate motif is inspired by the flocked velvet wall covering of the Clayton parlor. Pomegranates were a popular motif in 19th-century European decorative arts and painting with its symbolic importance varying across cultures. The parlor was an important room in a Gilded Age home. There, visitors were received and entertained, and the family showcased art and fine furnishings for their guests to admire. Scarf measures 60" in length.
